The name of the largest and one of the oldest engineering concerns in Japan in Russian is traditionally pronounced as "Mitsubishi" (translated - "three diamonds"). The first cars were manufactured here in 1917.
In the 19th century, shortly after the fall of the feudal regime in Japan, a young and energetic man named Yataro Iwasaki created a shipbuilding and ship repair company called Tsukomo Shokai.
The company grew, the name changed, since 1875 it was called the Mitsubishi Mail Steamship Company ("Mitsubishi Postal Shipping Company"). On the flags of his ships was depicted the world-famous emblem of Mitsubishi today - three diamonds. The Japanese government, interested in strengthening the state’s economy, developing industry and trade, provided financial support to entrepreneurship, which allowed Yataro Iwasaki to expand the company. A few years later, it became Japan's largest shipping company. In 1917, the first Mitsubishi Motors Model A was launched, which in many ways resembled Ford cars.
In 1918, the company launched the first T1 truck.
One of the most important milestones in the history of automotive industry is the first diesel engine for a passenger car made in 1931. Its power was 70 hp! A year later, the Japanese launched the large and powerful Mitsubishi B46 bus.
In the same year, diesel-powered BD43 and BD46 buses were created, and the SHT6 prechamber diesel was invented.
Recall that Mitsubishi trucks and pickups are produced in full polter, but only light and medium trucks enter the European market. Note that the more widespread pickup "L200" is unsurpassed to cope with impassability.

In 1990, the Mitsubishi 3000GT sports model was introduced to the public, which gained great popularity, especially in the United States, where in 1991 it received a prize as the best imported car of the year according to Motor Trend magazine. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has also become the largest truck manufacturer in the world.
In 1993, as a result of Mitsubishi Motors environmental activities, the Libero EV was developed on the basis of the Libero station wagon. Also, the Mitsubishi lineup was supplemented by the Lancer Evolution II, which debuted at the World Rally Championship (WRC). In the same year, Mitsubishi Motors became the official sponsor of the Asian Football Confederation.
In 1995, with the release of the Pajero Jr mini-SUV, they also developed a revolutionary engine equipped with the GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) system - direct fuel injection into the cylinders.
1998 - Mitsubishi launches a full range of cars. The end of the release of the model Spase Wagon. 2001 - a new 5-door Pajero Pinin model appeared (previously only a 3-door version was produced), which has a new 2L GDI engine with direct injection of gasoline, which replaced its 1.8-liter predecessor. In the spring of 2003, sales of the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV began.
In August of the same year, the European premiere of the 9th generation Mitsubishi Lancer was held at the Moscow Motor Show. In 2004, three new products appeared at once: the Lancer Evolution VIII sports car, the Grandis minivan and the first Mitsubishi hatchback in the Colt segment.
The year 2004 was rich for Mitsubishi with international awards and prizes. Thus, the Lancer Evolution VIII is recognized as the best sports car in France and the USA, and the Colt becomes the car of the year in the Netherlands and Denmark, receives the prestigious Golden Wheel Prize. Despite the fact that in 2006 the total volume of automobile production by Mitsubishi decreased slightly, in the new 2007 the situation improved markedly. In the first six months of 2007, car production grew by 3.8% and reached 693,800 units. For Europeans, Mitsubishi offers eight models, not counting the Lancer Evolution IX sports sedan. Recently, a significant update was made. So, at the end of 2006, sales of the fourth generation of Pajero off-road vehicles began, and at the beginning of 2007 new models of the second-generation Outlander crossovers appeared. In the summer, the United Kingdom introduced the compact city Mitsubishi i, which appeared in Japan two years earlier. By the end of the year, sales of the new tenth-generation Lancer sedans will begin in the Western European market. The modern Mitsubishi is one of the global automotive giants. Today, Mitsubishi produces an impressive variety of vehicles, ranging from compact cars to heavy trucks and specialized vehicles. The reliability and speed of Mitsubishi cars is confirmed by numerous victories in rallies, and other automotive competitions. The immediate plans of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation are to introduce innovations in the field of ecology, popularize the operation of electric vehicles and reduce the environmental impact.
The mid-tonnage truck of the Japanese brand Mitsubishi Fuso is a maneuverable, compact car. Vans, tow trucks, cranes and other special equipment are assembled on the basis of the Fuso Kanter chassis. Technical characteristics of Mitsubishi Fuso: running and speed properties are provided by a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine of 5 liters and 180 horsepower, aggregated with a 7-speed manual gearbox.

The CANTER mid-lift truck is the flagship of the Mitsubishi Fuso with almost 50 years of continuous technical development. The 1st generation Mitsubishi Canter was introduced to the truck market in 1963, which could carry up to two tons of cargo. In 1973, the T200 series was assembled. Another diesel-powered Fuso three-ton truck completes the Canter range, already known for its variety.
Mitsubishi Fuso Сanter auto 3 and 4 series were the forerunners of KANTER FE - the next generation 5 series that Europe first saw in 1985. In 2001, KANTER was modernized. Then the design of the truck headlights, radiator grilles changed, and a new engine was also installed on the car that meets the requirements of environmental standards Euro 3. In 1968, it received a new embodiment in the model of the T90 series.
In 1993, the sixth generation Canter was developed. The distinguishing features of this generation of Mitsubishi Canter vehicles were first-class aerodynamic performance and a rounded volumetric cabin.
